I'll be away shooting a personal project in the UAE over the next few weeks, I will try to update the blog with various images of my exploits. I've heard that internet connections can be temperamental so apologies if the blog is a bit sparse over the next couple ( to be honest its always a bit sparse so you probably wont notice).
I've had a mad couple of weeks raising my profile as an assistant working on a number of jobs. Firstly, with Tara Darby at East Photographic, alongside her long-time first assistant Nick Seaton and the talented Ben Beagent, I had a great time on set working alongside such a professional and friendly team, I can't wait to work with them again in the near future.
I've also been assisting the Laura Pannack whose fantastic portraiture won her First Prize in the World Press Photo awards for portraiture this year.
We spent several days up in Sheffield working on a portrait series and despite the long days and endless travelling came away with some great shots and amusing memories. Most notably a respectable 70-something year old lady having the time of her life in a wheel barrow and the construction of a mock 'bundle' involving two dozen excited children at a roller hockey rink. Needless to say it was a fun assist and I look forward to future projects with Laura. Check out Laura's blog for more on the project including a rather nice portrait of yours truly.
That is all for now, bon voyage...
